Surrounding the old town is its millenary wall, declared a World Heritage Site. The city preserves quiet pedestrian streets, wide squares and landscaped areas. You can sample the best of Lugo's gastronomy: red meats, lacón con grelos (pork shoulder with turnip tops), tetilla cheeses and a wide range of fresh fish and seafood. Declared an Asset of Cultural Interest, the thermal baths were already exploited by the Romans, who discovered various therapeutic properties in their waters.
